From: Gary Johnston
Message: Dana and Judy ... Cassie and I are so sorry for your loss. As I sit here wondering what words of comfort I might offer, my mind races back to fond memories of our youth; I can assure you that growing up with Nick was ... an adventure! The annual family trips to Divide Lake in Canada for fishing and all-day horse riding; the model car/hot-rod building competitions (he usually won); the '57 Ford wagon Sunday family drives in the woods sitting on the tailgate; Phillips Lake and the 14' Pacific Mariner (with a "Merc" of course) and waterskiing (he ALWAYS won!); the '49 Ford that could burn rubber for blocks; the '67 Fairlane and disc brakes; Boone Ford, Thurston County Sheriff, and Sears; the 17' Marlin and Merc (and my purchase from him, use, and subsequent sale just last month!) and salmon fishing off Devil's Head; the 4-wheelin' in my jeep; the deer hunting; the farting contests (he usually won!); me carrying him (that was a challenge!) into his house one late night and then requiring medical attention for his head when I didn't notice that the porch light was in the way; his carrying me to the emergency room on another occasion when I was too stubborn to go. Our sincere condolences to you and your families, and, yes ... we will miss him, too. Love, Gary & Cassie.

Message: Judy and Family, Nick will be really missed. Our job keep us seperated in distance and time but Nick was always fun for his riders as well as his fellow workers. I hated that he left without us being able to say how much we liked him. He was a very private person, so I understood him not wanting to go though the hassel but we will really miss him.

Message: Judy..............My deepest condolences to you and the family. As you well know Nick and I were the best of friends and always got along well. I was very depressed, stunned, and sad, of the news, and he will be missed terribly. If there is anything I can do please do not hesitate to ask. I will miss him and will always remember him each time I start my van, as I did for him for almost 2 years while at the company. God Bless you and all, and I pray you will always remember he is now in a great place. Sincerely, Gary.........P.S. I will call soon...my # is 556-5572.
