DICIE JANE BALL
September 3, 1933 – March 7, 2008
Dicie Jane Ball, was born September 3, 1933 in Bristow Oklahoma. Dicie was the oldest daughter of Annabelle and Henry Randleas. She had four brothers and one sister. In August of 1951 Dicie married Norman Ball and they have been married for 57 years. They have six children, fourteen grandchildren, and multiple great grandchildren.

Dicie moved to the Shelton, Washington area in 1968, and has lived in the area with her family since then.

While her children were young she was both a Girl Scout and a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed crocheting, doll making and repair, and ceramics. Dicie also enjoyed sitting at the beach watching the waves and listening to the surf.>/p> Nothing was more important to her than her family, and she especially enjoyed the times when she could keep her grandchildren (one or all 14 together) for extended visits. Her Grandchildren also looked forward to these visits with great anticipation and joy.

For the last 3+ years Dicie has been a resident at Shelton Health and Rehabilitation Center. She had come to look on the Staff as an extention of her family and cared deep for them.

Dicie was a loving wife and wonderful mother. She didn’t believe in son-in-laws or daughter-in-laws but took each one into her life as a new and loved child. She encouraged everyone to be the best at whatever endeavor they undertook, and always stressed that you could do and be whatever you wanted as long as you were willing to work hard at it. She was the wind beneath our wings, and her presence and wisdom will be missed by us all.
