Robert E. DriedgerRobert Earl Driedger, age 62, of Shelton, passed on Sunday, October 4, 2009. Born on August 24, 1947 in San Jose, CA, Robert was the son of the late Henry J. and Lee H. (Gillis) Driedger.Over the years, Mr. Driedger worked as a carpenter, private eye and a blacksmith. He was a Navy veteran and enjoyed fishing, cooking, camping, photography, laughing, baking sourdough bread, playing darts and shooting pool. He was a member of the NRA and was a gun enthusiast.Many times he traveled to and from Alaska and California. He once sailed from Santa Cruz to Hawaii. During the trip to Hawaii, he ran out of food, Hawaii was three more days away.Anybody that knew Robert, knew him as out going, easy to talk to, open minded and approachable. He had a great sense of humor and loved to be with his friends and family. Even though he had an upbeat personality, he still had a genuine concern and respect for those around him.Mr. Driedger is survived by two sisters; Lee Robin Driedger and Francis Clare (Henry) Dalelio, 14 nieces and nephews and 11 great nieces and nephews.Memorial contributions may be made to Olympia Food Co-Op, 3111 Pacific Ave SE, Olympia, WA 98501.To leave condolences online, You may click on "View Guestbook" below.
