Marilyn Jo DotsonOur mother, our friend Marilyn "Jo" Dotson, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2009, in Olympia. Jo was born to Ivan and Maude Loughary on November 20, 1932, in Corvalis Oregon.She Lived in the Olympia area for more than thirty-five years. Jo was raised in Carnation, eventually moving to Wyoming in her teen years. It was in Laramie where Jo met Patrick Dotson, her husband of fifty-three years. Jo was a member of the Laramie High Class of 1951 and graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1955 with a degree in home economics. Jo retired from the department of social and health services in 1998.
Jo was a gourmet cook, Betty Crocker to her kids, an avid gardener, lover of birds, Sodoku and crossword puzzles. Her favorite times were spent with her family, and traveling to Yuma Arizona, Puerto Vallarta Mexico or anywhere the sun pulled her.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband Pat. She is survived by her sister Muriel Bauer of Federal Way; four daughters, Debbie Dotson, Patti Ertel (Lance), Tami Armstrong (Richard), Melisa Berntson; son, Scot Dotson; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.You may leave a condolence online for the family by clicking on "View Guestbook" below.
