After seventy years of joy and toil, Ruth Ellen Glaze has left us to be with the Lord.Ruth was born to Blanche and Edward Nelson and raised in Onalaska, WA. In 1959 she married Jerry Glaze and after several years of working at the WSU bookstore while Jerry went to school, they moved to Toledo and raised their family. She worked as a medical receptionist for Dr. Dugaw and the Mt. St. Helen’s Medical Clinic before taking a position with Blue Shield of Washington and Alaska. After 32 years in Toledo, they retired and moved to Olympia, WA.Ruth enjoyed traveling and has explored the world visiting Western and Eastern Europe, the Holy Lands, Japan, China, the Caribbean, etc. One of her favorite vacation spots was Kauai, HI. She enjoyed family gatherings, camping trips and gardening. She is survived by the only treasures that mattered to her, her husband, Jerry Glaze; her children, Kirk Glaze of Seattle; Kelly Bluhm of Centralia and Jeri Kay Combs of Bothell; and her sister, Margaret Barnes. She is the proud grandmother of six wonderful grandchildren: Sara and Jerrud Glaze; Mitch and Erin Bluhm; and Sidney and Russell Combs.It is time for a well-deserved rest.
