Adnan “Ed” Anwar

Ed Anwar, 48, a 28 year resident of Olympia, died March 25, 2010 at his home. He was born March 11, 1962 in Lahore, Pakistan to Ismat and Sarvat (Sheik) Anwar. Ed attended High School and Junior College in Lahore, Pakistan and graduated from The Evergreen State College with a Bachelor of Science degree. On March 29, 1982 he married Mary Andringa who survives.

From 1988 to 2001 Ed served in the United States Army. He was a Master Auto Mechanic and owner of Checkered Flag Automotive in Lacey. Ed loved his customers and business. It was his life second only the love he had for his family. Among his interests were guns, Eagles, and the American Dream. He held membership in the N.R.A and A.S.A.

In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by his son, Mitch Anwar, stationed in Iraq; daughter Sarah K. Anwar of Olympia; sister, Ismat Mueller of St. Alberts Island, Australia; and his mother, Sarvat Anwar of Lahore, Pakistan.
