Visitation Information: Obituary: Patricia Alice Duarte, 63, passed away at her home in Yelm, WA on April 2, 2010. She was born on May 13th, 1946 in Manteca, California. She lived in the Modesto area until 18 years old and immediately joined the U.S. Marine Corps after graduating from high school. She served her country until 1967 in San Diego, CA. She also was in the U.S. Air Force Reserves in the 1980’s while continuing to work toward her Master’s degree. Pat (what she preferred to be called) worked for the Dept. of Defense for 40 years, where she touched many people’s lives. She retired in 2007 but continued to work as a contractor supporting our troops over seas. Pat loved the ocean, the outdoors, stained glass, and walking her dog. She also enjoyed gardening and travel. She traveled around the world and shared many adventures. Pat was a strong, determined woman while at the same time was full of grace and confidence.Pat is survived by her only child, Eric Duarte. She was a wonderful mother, woman, and friend.
