Obituary:

Frank E. Badgley, 79, lifelong resident of Grays Harbor passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 5, 2010.

He was born August 3, 1930 in Elma to Frank & Mayme (Richards) Badgley.

Frank was an old time logger & log truck driver. In 1949 he made his first trip to Alaska to work on the railroad where he fell in love with Alaska. He worked in Washington, Oregon, Northern California, & Alaska, including living 10 years at Camp Grisdale. He learned the hard way about owning his own fleet of log trucks before going back to work for other logging outfits. He drove for Pat Rabey Trucking for many years. His last 10 years of logging was done on Price of Wales Island in Alaska. He retired in 1995, returning back to Elma at Viking West Mobile Park, living a quarter mile from where he was born.

He enjoyed having lunch each day at the Elma Senior Center, going to the Little Creek Casino, and driving on the back roads looking for the elk.

He is survived by his daughters, Marie Lisle (Ken) of Rochester and JoAnn Badgley of Satsop; a sister, Bev Whiting of Littlerock; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and an enormous family of friends & other relatives with many fond memories & stories to tell of their “adventures” with Frank.
