DYLAN BRICE GUBBE

Dylan Gubbe was born in Olympia, Washington, on February 13, 1993 and was taken back into God’s arms on December 25, 2011.

Dylan was loved by his Mother, Kim Gubbe, his Nana, Sharon Kitchel, his Grandfather, Bruce Gubbe and Grandma, Helen Potter. He was also loved by his Aunts, Dianna Morales and Michelle Hall, his Uncles Henry Morales and Bob Hall. Dylan was the third in line of his cousins, Jesse, Patrick, Gabe, Tyler and Halei. Dylan would also want to mention Aleesha Clevenger, who he loved as a sister. He had a supportive and loving extended family that will miss him dearly.

Dylan’s elementary education was at Hansen Elementary through their HAP program. He loved all his teachers, but especially Mr. Skinner. The 4th and 5th grade years were his favorite school years.

Dylan started acting at the age of 5, thanks to an after school counselor at Perpetual Motion who saw Dylan’s potential. His first year was with Capital Playhouse, where he played the lead role of the King Lion. The second year he found his passion at Creative Theatre Experience (CTE); he spent the next 8 years either on the stage or behind it.

Dylan’s next passion was with the Tumwater Marching Thunderbirds at Tumwater High School. He marched all four years, the first year with his saxophone and the next three years in percussion. He loved being in the pit with all the girls, but took up the big bass drum, when needed, for two of those years.

Dylan also loved to bowl and bowled youth league for 10 years.

If you asked any one of Dylan’s friends, you would hear that Dylan was best known for his hugs, the ability to make you feel better, to make you smile/laugh, to just be himself and allow you to be yourself. He’ll be missed by many.

Dylan’s memorial will be held on January 12, 2012, 3:00 p.m., at Mountain View Church of the Nazarene, 940 Israel Rd SW, Tumwater, WA.

In lieu of flowers, the family will have a Love Offerings basket available to help purchase a remembrance bench to be placed at Dylan’s graveside.

We’ll also meet again on Dylan’s birthday, Monday, February 13th, 3:00 p.m., at Masonic Memorial Park, 455 North St SE, Tumwater WA and put Dylan’s ashes to rest. Please bring your stories of Dylan, poems and/or music to this event.

Please leave your memories of Dylan in the Guestbook below.
