Visitation Information: NoneObituary: Robert “Bob” Allen, Sr. 62, a former resident of Olympia, died Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at his home in Knappa, Oregon. He was born September 30, 1943 in Moorhead, Minnesota to Robert and Dorothy (Johnson) Allen. Bob spent a short time in the Army here and overseas in Germany. My dad spent most of his work years as a meat cutter at Western and Tri-City Meats in Lacey and Tumwater. I can remember in my younger years when he worked at Tri-City going to the back door and looking in and seeing all the big slabs of meat hanging and as I go in trying to find him in the back, or at one of his favorite watering holes next door at Casey’s Tavern, I remember seeing a photo of him in the newspaper on St. Patrick’s Day sitting at the bar drinking a green beer with his friends. Most of you reading this know my dad in many different ways. I hope that you can share them here in this guest book. Bob is survived by one son, Rob Allen and wife Jennifer; a sister, Barbara Grogan of Kansas; and one grandson, Barrett; and many nieces and nephews. I would like to thank Laura Bohm for spending countless hours with my father, driving him to Portland to the doctor and for treatments in his time of need.
