Visiting hours will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2006 at Olympia-Lacey Church of God.
He will be laid to rest at 10:00 a.m., Monday. September 18, 2006 at the Grand Mound Cemetery.
A memorial service will follow at 12:00 noon at Olympia-Lacey Church of God.

Obituary: 


Ted Edward Bartlett, passed away at home on September 13, 2006. He was born August 18, 1917 in Bennett, Colorado to Olie and Jessie Bartlett. He graduated from Kiowa Union High school in 1935. His family moved to Cowlitz Prairie, Washington in 1937 where he met his wife, Alice Seifert. They were married December 24, 1938 and had two sons, Gary Bartlett (Pat) of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Don Bartlett (Marj) of Olympia, Washington.

Ted was a dairy farmer in Rochester for 16 years and also worked as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver in construction and logging industries. Until his retirement in 1984 he was the facilities manager for the Purdy Correctional Center.

During his lifetime he served in several leadership positions: Master of Chehalis Masonic Lodge, Worthy Patron of Chehalis Order of Eastern Star, member of Rochester School Board, State President of the Arizona Shuffleboard Association (ASA), and is a member of the ASA Hall of Fame.

Ted was involved in the community and coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball. He was an active member of the Olympia-Lacey Church of God.

Ted enjoyed salmon fishing, traveling, playing shuffleboard, and was an avid sports fan. He cherished spending time with his four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Brett Bartlett (Heather), Brook Lawson (Ryan) all of Olympia, Chad Bartlett (Kristi) of Menomonie, Wisconsin and Wade Bartlett (Kristin) of Spring Hill, Tennessese.

He is survived by his wife, Alice of 67 years and all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Fred.
