Visitation Information: Obituary: Don Ashton, 69, of Olympia, died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at Roo-Lan Healthcare Center. Don was born November 27, 1937 in Centralia to Donald Joseph Ashton and Pearl Evelyn Hughes.Don graduated from William Winlock Miller High School, Olympia, in 1955. After a brief stint in the Air Force, Don was employed with various State agencies between 1957 and 1989.In addition to his love of working outside in his yard, Don enjoyed several other pass times and hobbies. He was a rock hound and enjoyed hunting for agates. He also loved spending time whale watching off the coast of Oregon, drawing and scuba diving.He is survived by his mother, Pearl Hughes; a sister Barb (Reid) Kincy, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his longtime companion and best friend Debbie Anderson.At Don’s request there will be no funeral services.
