Obituary: 


Warren Charles Ball, 87, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Warren was born January 06, 1920 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Alfred R. and Elenora F. (Wells) Ball.

He joined the C.C.C. in 1938; stationed at Rainier, WA until he started a machinist apprenticeship at the Bremerton Navy Yard in August 1939. He was then drafted in the United States Navy in June of 1944 and discharged in May of 1946. He returned to his job at the Navy Yard, shop 31 until retiring in June of 1973 after nearly 34 years of service.

On February 14, 1948, Warren married his sweetheart Anna May Wilson at St. Paul’s Church in Port Gamble, Washington. The couple had three children; Barbara, Ronald and Pamela.

Warren and Anna enjoyed traveling and purchased an Airstream trailer in 1974 and joined the Wally Byam Caravan Club. They traveled extensively across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, Europe, New Zealand and Australia.

He was active in volunteering with youth and his church activities during their 25 years of living in Bremerton.

Warren is survived by his wife Anna of Olympia; son, Ronald S. Ball of Bremerton; daughters, Barbara E. Malone, Tumwater and Pamela A. Carpenter, Silverdale; grandchildren, Jeffrey S. Ball, Paul Q. Malleck, Sarah A. Carpenter and Alex C. Carpenter; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Leslie; and sisters, Beverly E. Hayes and Shirley Agnes Eliason.

Visitation will be held at from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 24 at the Masonic Center, 455 North Street SE; a memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. the same day at St. Benedicts Episcopal Church, 910 Bowker St., Lacey.

Committal will be at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, July 25, at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA 98042

Memorial Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Seattle, WA or St. Benedict’s Episcopal Church, PO Box 3811, Lacey, WA 98509.
