Obituary:

Linda Anderson

Born July 30, 1955 in Misawa, Japan and passed away on November 10, 2007 in Olympia after a valiant battle with cancer.

Linda was a brilliant beam of positive energy. People were drawn to her and found pleasure in her presence throughout her life. Her laugh was spontaneous and genuine and her humor raised the spirits of everyone she came in contact with. Linda spent her early years in Japan and took great pride in her Japanese heritage. She was a devoted mother and wife. Family was always her first concern and topmost priority. She took care of those closest to her through her strength, generosity and unbelievable drive and will.

Although family was Linda’s focus, she also had a successful professional career in the insurance industry, as a Griffin School Board Member and President and in Human Resource Administration with Washington State. Her wit, personality, approachability and intelligence always allowed her to master her work responsibilities and advance in her career. If there was a project or an issue that needed special attention, Linda’s dedication and focus could always be depended upon to find the solution. She would grab hold of the issue, own it and work it openly, honestly and with concern for those whom it affected.

If you knew Linda, you understood her power. She left an unforgettable positive impression on everyone she met. She will be dearly missed in the physical sense, but her spiritual presence will be with all of us forever.

Linda is survived by her husband Ron; daughter Sarah; son Orion; mother Mitsuko; sister Helen (Doug) Bury; brother Tom (Wendy) Witkoski; many nieces and nephews and multitudes of friends.

A Celebration of Life in Linda’s honor will be held at the Masonic Center, 455 North Street SE in Tumwater on Monday, November 19 at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amara Parenting and Adoption Services, 3300 East Union St., Seattle, WA 98122. (206) 260-1700.
