Obituary:
Eric Robin Meale, born 2/20/1951 in Helena, Montana to Eric L. and Betty L. Meale passed away on August 30th, 2008 from heart and lung troubles. He graduated from Elko High School in 1969 where he excelled not only in academics, but also as an excellent football athlete. He chose to leave his athletics behind and pursue an academic career at the College of Idaho in Caldwell, Id where he received his Bachelor’s of Science in Math and Economics. Eric then moved on to obtain his Masters degree from University of Utah in Agricultural Economics. He married in 1974 and moved to Billings, Montana where his only daughter, Lisa Marie, was born in 1983. Shortly there after, he moved to Olympia and began working for the State of Washington Transportation Department and later became the head of the Economics Branch.Eric always offered a kind heart, warm smile, and a calming voice to all who knew him. He is survived by his sister Babette Meale and his daughter Lisa whom he loved very much.No formal memorial service will be held, but his legacy will always be remembered in the hearts of his friends and family.In lieu of flowers, gifts, and cards, you may choose to donate to the general scholarship fund at the College of Idaho.You may leave online memories and condolences for the family by clicking on "View Guestbook" below:

Message: I talked to Eric a few times. I remember one time talking to him about my children and the funny things they do. Then he was telling me about his daughter when she was little. I could tell he was watching his memories about watching her growing up I could see this look in his eyes as he was talking about her and he had this smile on his face. I remember his laugh, he laughed a lot when he talked, and he was always so friendly. You will be missed greatly.
