David V. Wild

David Wild died on January 30, 2006, at home.

He was born to Fred and Edna (Harris) Wild on September 4, 1922 in Springville, Iowa. He graduated from high school in Culver City, CA and attended Iowa State College.

He served in the Navy and while stationed in Bremerton WA he met and married Barbara (“Babs”)Eckroat, and together they raised their five children. Babs predeceased him in August, 2005. They would have celebrated 60 years of marriage February 16, 2006.

He retired from MetLife in 1985. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He was most proud of his children and grandchildren and always put his family first. He delighted in telling jokes and will be remembered for his unfailing sense of humor. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Caryll, a grandson, Christopher and great-grandson, Joshua. He is survived by his children, Kathleen (Alan) Martin, David J. (Becky) Wild, Mary (Chuck) Lucas, Brian (Claudia) Wild and Robert (Tammy) Wild, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday February 6, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lacey, with a luncheon reception to follow. A private graveside service will be held in Bremerton at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in David’s name to Thurston Co. Medic 1 or to Providence St. Peter Foundation.
