MEMORIAL_Burgess_Donald

Don passed away of a heart attack on May 21, 2013 in Lacey, Washington, at the age of 72. He was born February 16, 1941 in Pomeroy, Wisconsin to Larry and May Burgess.  He graduated from North Thurston High School, served in the U.S. Navy, and worked at Washington State Labor and Industries.  He was a 25-year resident of Lacey.

Don was very good to all people.  He loved his Mariners and Seahawks, and enjoyed going to Frankie’s Sports Bar & Grill, NASCAR, remote control planes, hunting and fishing, playing pool, and HAM radio.
He is survived by his Aunt Coral Burgess, Ronald Burgess, Laura Burgess, Nic Burgess, Gary Burgess, and Greg Burgess.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Uncle Wally Burgess, and Randy Burgess.

    Dear old Don….. He could be alitlle grumpy at times but yet he had a heart of Gold. He sure will be missed by us and so many more of his friends and also the dogs that would come into Frankies as he always had a treat to feed them.

    I enjoyed very much listening to Don’s stories and life experiences. He was larger than life in every sense of the word. Although I hadn’t seen him for some time, he is not someone I could ever forget. Thinking about him makes me smile. I will miss him.
